This brief post is to announce that I’ve taken on the volunteer position of Vice President of Member Services with the Northwest Editors Guild.
The Northwest Editors Guild promotes the craft of editing and helps organize and educate member editors through meetings and workshops. As chair of the programming committee, I work with a team of three others to design educational and social meetings. These meetings serve both local editors and non-members interested in the editing profession.
The role of vice president will serve well my desire to build a thriving literary community in Seattle. Above all I want to bring together editors, writers, and publishers for shared literary events. I believe these three factions of the Seattle literary scene could be much cozier with each other. To that end we’re working with local writers, editors, and publishers to design community-building events.
